Season’s Greetings, Red Boot Family! During this season of giving and gratitude, I want to thank you for everything you’ve done to make 2017 such an extraordinary year for The Red Boot Way.

With your help, we’ve strengthened our program this year by adding Red Boot Challenge Meetings to our already successful Open Meetings. We’ve just completed our second series of Challenge meetings, and look forward to doing it again in 2018.

I’m so thankful to those of you who supported our #GivingTuesdayCLTcampaign last month, with donations to The Red Boot Way totaling more than $4,500. We still have a long way to go, and need your help to finish the year strong.

Training future guides requires a dedicated team of people. As we grow, I need to secure more funding to ensure that we provide our volunteers with the resources and support they need to create spaces where intentional communication can occur.

This work is hard work…but it’s also extremely joyful. Watching people come alive to the power of being heard, to building trust, to developing deep and soulful connections with their fellow humans…this is what the Red Boot Way is all about. People become engaged in ways they never dreamed possible, both with themselves and those around them. Solutions to some of our community’s most pressing problems can be found.

If we are able to raise $10,000 between now and December 21, I promise to take a giant leap out of my comfort zone by taking a zipline ride at the US National Whitewater Center. I have a powerful fear of heights so this is a really big deal for me, but sometimes it’s important to rise above our fears when we want to make a difference.

So please consider helping us out with a secure online tax-deductible donation by clicking on the Donate Now button below. Any little bit will help.

I am immensely grateful to all of our trained guides, and the amazing men and women who continue to support us by showing up to meetings and helping spreading the word.

Big Red Boot Love.

Thanks again for supporting The Red Boot Way!

It’s almost 6:30 PM (Eastern Time) on November 28, and we’re in the final hours of this year’s #GivingTuesdayCLT campaign, which ends at midnight. If you’ve already supported The Red Boot Way during this campaign, thank you so much!

If you haven’t gotten around to it yet, please:

Either way, your contributions will help The Red Boot Way continue to grow.

Thanks in advance!

Today is #GivingTuesday, an international day of giving. As you know, The Red Boot Way is participating in our local #GivingTuesdayCLT campaign. See our November 14 blog post for more details.

We have another great opportunity to help us reach our #GivingTuesday goal. Facebook and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation are joining forces to match up to $2 million donated to U.S. nonprofits, and to waive donation fees for the day. Only donations made on Facebook today (from 8:00 AM to midnight Eastern Time) are eligible for matching and waived fees. The $2 million nationwide cap for matching funds has already been reached, but we still need your help today to get as many fee-free donations as possible.

Please consider posting a Facebook fundraiser for The Red Boot Way as described at https://www.facebook.com/fundraisers/. When asked “Who are you raising money for?” choose “Nonprofit”, and search for “Red Boot”; we should be listed as “Red Boot Coalition” (our former name).

If you’d rather just donate instead of setting up your own fundraiser, we already have six individual fundraisers shared on our Red Boot Way Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/theredbootway/), and hope to add even more!

Donations to these Facebook fundraisers, regardless of size, will add up to tremendous support of Red Boot’s mission and programs.

If you’re not on Facebook, you can still support us today by visiting our SHARE Charlotte page (http://bit.ly/SHAREredboot) or our website (http://theredbootway.org/support-us/) to make a secure online donation.

Please email us at info@theredbootway.org if you have any questions.

Thanks again for supporting The Red Boot Way!

Thanksgiving. Black Friday. Small Business Saturday. Cyber Monday. Giving Tuesday?

Now in its fourth year, #GivingTuesdayCLT is a local campaign that leverages the global Giving Tuesday movement. The Red Boot Way is proud to be part of this collaboration of more than 230 Charlotte nonprofits working together for the greater good.

Last year’s #GivingTuesdayCLT was the largest community-wide Giving Tuesday campaign EVER (watch the video!), raising $7.2 million for 174 nonprofits.

Coordinated again by our friends at SHARE Charlotte, and made possible by presenting sponsor Wells Fargo, this year’s #GivingTuesdayCLT will be even bigger. We’re joining forces to raise a total of $10 million during the campaign, which kicks off this Tuesday, November 14 and culminates on Giving Tuesday, November 28.

This is going to be an amazing time of giving, unlike anything Charlotte has seen before – and you can help!

  • Visit, like and follow The Red Boot Way on FacebookTwitter and Instagram, share our posts, and tell everyone how you’re giving back this year! Be sure to use the hashtags #GivingTuesdayCLT, #WhatsYourGift, and #GiveGoodCLT.
  • Share this information with friends so they can help spread the word.
  • Pledge volunteer hours with us for 2018.
  • Visit our SHARE Charlotte page (http://bit.ly/SHAREredboot) or our website (http://theredbootway.org/support-us/) for more information, and to support The Red Boot Way with a secure online donation.
  • Help us reach our goal of $20,000! We have some special surprises in mind if we reach this goal; we’ll tell you more soon!

For more information about the campaign and how you can get involved, please visit GivingTuesdayCLT.org or email us at info@theredbootway.org.

Thanks again for supporting The Red Boot Way!

We are excited.

As in…REALLY excited.

After nearly three years of incredible support and feedback from thousands of people, Red Boot has found its way to HERE!

We guess you could call this a total Red Boot REBOOT.

Welcome to our new name, new vision, new mission and new website!

The Red Boot Coalition is now The Red Boot Way.

Our Vision: The Red Boot Way is a respected and widely practiced method that equips people to engage in personal and community based-problem solving.

Our Mission: The Red Boot Way creates compassionate communities by teaching a practice of intentional communication where self-awareness, connections and trust grow.

We also have a brand-new website and some new programs. Check out the details here.

For those of you who have been a part of Red Boot for a while now, please note there are some significant changes:

  • The 11 steps have been rewritten to be framed in a more personal perspective.
  • We’ve changed the format for our Red Boot Way Open meetings (drop-in).
  • The curriculum for our Red Boot Way Challenge meetings (12-weeks) has been updated.
  • We are revamping the Red Boot Way Guide training.
  • And, we are adding Red Boot Way Topic meetings. These meetings are for those who have been through a Challenge program and want to apply their Red Boot Way communication strategies on topics ranging from parenting to immigration policy.

And, if that wasn’t exciting enough, registration for The Red Boot Way Challenge meetings are now open TODAY here. Don’t delay, space is limited and registration is first-come, first-served.

If you aren’t able to sign up for our Challenge meetings, we have a host of other exciting things coming up in the future, so stay tuned!

I’d like to take a moment, before signing off, to thank our amazing Red Boot Way board for their persistence and belief in the power of Red Boot, Linda Harmon for our new logo, Amy Shock for helping create and shape the new website, and all of YOU for coming to meetings, supporting us however you can and living the Red Boot Way.

Peace out,

Molly Barker, M.S.W.
